You can now request files directly from a task. All files uploaded to that request files link will be uploaded to that task. If you don't want it to be uploaded to a task, go to the Files tab > New > Request files.

We also fixed the design and user authentication issue for the request files link that your clients see. They'll no longer be required to submit a password. Only need their email and username.
