Hello!
Following the latest update regarding pause limitations, we’d like to propose implementing time decay for paused subscriptions.
I previously discussed this in this thread, but now that limits have been introduced, I wanted to formally surface it as a new request.
The core idea is to use a “decay” model to gently nudge inactive users toward reactivation instead of hard pause limits or automatic unpausing. For example:
Every 3 or X months of being paused without unpausing, the client’s total pause time is reduced by X.
If the pause time decays fully to 0, the subscription stays paused — it will not charge the client automatically. The client must manually unpause in order to resume billing. This helps avoid confusion or disputes.
This avoids the tedium of arbitrary pause limits while still preventing indefinite pauses — similar to how hourly retainers have limited rollover.
It keeps things fair, transparent, and easy to manage on both sides.
Thanks for considering, and happy to discuss further!
